ABOUT

EARLY YEARS

Born in Cambridge and lived in a small village just outside.

I picked up the guitar when I was 7 years old, with a few lessons in my early years. By 14 I was playing at jam sessions in and around Cambridge all the while mixing with better musicians, it was around this time I was singing on the jam circuit.

After completing A-levels I enrolled at Cambridge Regional College studying Music Performance, but after 1 year I dropped out leaving with 2 merit diplomas and did the classic rock and roll story with my friends and went on to join a band playing gigs. I was focused on earning a living solely through music, so I was performing solo and in two bands.

HOW I GOT INTO CRUISING

While playing with a band and also having a solo career I was approached by a mutual friend that linked me with a female vocalist (that had been performing on cruise ships for 10 years) and together we started a duo to perform on my first cruise ship, MSC Divina. I was 19 years old and had to say goodbye to the boys in the band that were all super supportive and all of them we're all still good friends.

TRAVELING

At 21 years old I spent 3 months travelling around the US ticking off three of the four corners and clocking up over 11k miles, most of which were in a Dodge Challenger. This would mark the start of my travel addiction with long trips to Asia, Africa and Brazil.

It was around this time I went back to a solo career to perform, first with Marella and then with Princess Cruises.

NASHVILLE

While performing at sea there are lots of places to take inspiration and all the while I was performing covers and an original song or two in every performance. This prompted me to take a trip to Nashville for another 3 months. Without giving away too much, it was a great learning curve in performing and showmanship and honing my skills as a songwriter. 

NOW

I have been performing as a solo vocalist and guitarist on cruise ships ever since. I have two of my own shows, a massive catalog of cover music and lots of unreleased original music.

This job as taken me to parts of the world I would have never dreamed. I have favourites but there's no place like home.

WHAT'S NEXT

I would like to continue performing on cruise ships for a while longer but to also have a more permanent foothold. So I've decided to settle down in Portsmouth where it has great transport links to London, Heathrow and of course to cruise ships, where I can look across the water over The Solent. 

The dream now is to get a songwriting contract for a label and writing reliable pop and country hits for artists.
